Internal Communications Strategy

Not all communication efforts occur between business and customer. Depending on your objectives there’s also need for a strong internal communications plan. An effective internal strategy enhances your corporate image, ensures a cohesive brand voice, generates employee cohesion and boosts office morale.

G/L Corporate Communications Plans
Geile/Leon has a mass of experience designing and implementing customized internal communications plans. The following are just two examples of recently created plans:

Heartland Bank P.U.L.S.E.
With P.U.L.S.E. (Providing Uncommon Levels of Service Everyday), Heartland Bank sought to create a communications program that encompassed the spirit their new brand theme – “Real Life. Banking.” This program involved new internal training efforts and a renewed sense of camaraderie within the organization.

Enterprise Fleet Management D.R.I.V.E.
The D.R.I.V.E. (Driving Results & Initiating Value Everyday) Program involved the creation of new lead generation and management tactics, and tools for Enterprise Fleet Management, including print materials and customized web components. Internal communications were streamlined, and sales managers now have an easy-to-use resource for dispersing marketing materials.

* Not all internal plans are named using an acronym. The creative elements that make up these strategies are as diverse as the companies they were developed for.

Committing to the Internal Strategy
Given the benefits of internal communications, it’s a wonder to think that each company isn’t clamoring for a professionally developed internal communications plan. But internal plans require ‘buy-in’ from employees at all levels of management. Without commitment from your staffers on the inside, your brand promise on the outside will be empty. With our experience at G/L, we’ve come to understand how to implement effective plans that have employees excited to be living your brand.
